Malibu Bluffs Park

Malibu Bluffs Park isn’t just a scenic overlook with a view of the Pacific. It is part of a land that had been home to the Chumash people for thousands of years. Long before surfers waxed their boards and multi-million-dollar homes lined the coastline; the Chumash thrived along these shores. Their society was rich in culture, spirituality, and a deep connection to the land and sea.

Each year, the Chumash Day Powwow and Inter-tribal Gathering take place at Malibu Bluffs Park. This event is more than just a festival; it is a powerful reunion of indigenous communities from across the West and Southwest, coming together to celebrate tradition, resilience, and unity.
